My name is April Heard and I am a wife and mother of four. My love for books goes back to elementary school. I used to spend hours reading all kinds of books. Reading has filled my life with such dimension and depth and I wanted my kids to experience the same. Thing is: books don’t come with the “mom approved” rubber stamp.
As a mom, I wanted to ensure that the books that my kids read were really age-appropriate for them. Only there wasn’t a resource available, at that time, to help me guage that. So I had to skim their books before they read them. I know that sounds a bit over the top, but with such a more advanced culture than I grew up in, I had to be careful. That’s when “Thumbnail This” was born–out of a need to screen books before kids read them. I wanted to give parents a real life parent-to-parent book review before they made the investment in new book(s) or drove to the library without the facts.
Thank you for taking this journey with me!
