Book Synopsis…

A fun and funny Halloween romp for children and parents alike!

It’s Halloween night, and creatures and critters from near and far are starting to gather outside the front door. And now here comes a whole army of monsters, on broomsticks, buses, and bikes, all clamoring in the darkness. What is it they want? Are they coming for you?

This humorous, creative story is the perfect Halloween adventure for children and parents to share.

My overall thoughts…

If you are looking for a ghoulishly good time, you’ve just found it! This is the best Halloween book I’ve read in a long time. It is full of humor, monsters, and things that go bump in the night. It incorporates a few Florida landmarks that are pretty cool, especially if you are a native. The cover art definitely sets the tone of this book. Halloween will never be the same! I’ll be adding this one to my bookshelf and think you should too.

The illustrations and text…

Le Ray’s illustrations were a monstrous highlight for me. There was so much detail on each page that allowed the reader to have a full experience audibly and visually. The imagery and text work in perfect unison here. I have to say it was a thing of beauty. The text was sized appropriately and allowed for easy readability. I liked the way James used various font sizes to create emphasis throughout the story. The book was masterfully written and made for a haunting good experience for the reader.

I’ll give it…
