Yo, ho, ho! It’s a mutiny against kindergarten!

So Emma decides to head back to the preschool ship to see if she can stir up a mutiny against kindergarten! Is that what she really wants? Or does she just miss her beloved Cap’n Chu? Batten down the hatches, mateys, because the first day of school is going to be stormy!
My overall thoughts…
The new school year is here and this is such an adorable book for you and your kindergartener to share. Smaller kids can really struggle with leaving their Pre-K classroom and teacher. There is alot of change thrown at them pretty quickly and it can be a little overwhelming for them. This book is a great way to ease them into that transition and reminds them that change isn’t as scary as they think.
The illustrations and text…
Kaban’s illustrations were rendered digitally. The detail in the illustrations caught my attention right off the bat. The overall color palette was warm and invigorating. I liked how the font color changed for easy readability to contrast the page background. The font size and type was appropriate. Robinson does a great job with the text and it will be easy for kids to relate to. There was a nice balance of illustrations and text throughout the book. This is a great book for kids struggling with the transition at any grade.
I’ll give it…
