Dear Girl, is a remarkable love letter written for the special girl in your life; a gentle reminder that she’s powerful, strong, and holds a valuable place in the world.
Through Amy and Paris’s charming text and Holly Hatam’s stunning illustrations, any girl reading this book will feel that she’s great just the way she is—whether she enjoys jumping in a muddy puddle, has a face full of freckles, or dances on table tops.
This book took my breath away. It gives homage to EVERY young girl. No matter their age, culture, or background this is their story. A story of empowerment, love, and appreciation for who YOU are. I totally applaud this heartfelt letter. This mother/daughter duo poured so much love in every word of this project. This book should be in every young girls’ hand.
The illustrations were beautifully executed. Their simplicity added to the elegance of the text. The prose and illustrations work in tandem to actualize the Dear Girl, message of empowerment and the importance of being “You.” If there is a special young lady in your life, this is the PERFECT gift for her. Whether it is to remind her that she is special or be the first time that she hears it. The Rosenthal’s didn’t forget about the boys. Check out Dear Boy, as boys are special too.
